Not For Sale. One Step At A Time is dedicated to preventing human trafficking and ending slavery.
We are an active tribe working together to abolish slavery locally in Stark County, Ohio and globally – together – forever.
In the Summer of 2016, Jami, Heather, and Jana decided to do something about human trafficking in Stark County by hosting the area’s first A21 Walk For Freedom. They held a successful walk and made an impact in the community. However, they wanted to do more. Over the last few years, Jami, Heather, Jana, and with the additions of Corie and Kathie, have grown a small group of volunteers into a powerful and active tribe of people working together to end modern-day slavery.
We believe that together, we can prevent the tragedy of human trafficking, liberate others, and be the voice of those who have been silenced – one step at a time. Although it’s a difficult topic to talk about, the more people who know the what, the why, and the how of human trafficking, as well as the signs of it, could potentially save so many lives by being equipped with that knowledge and reporting it. We are active in the community working with government, law enforcement, and local organizations to end this tragedy, but we can’t accomplish this with a few, we need everyone – whether a man, woman, young or old, to help in any way possible. We need YOU! There is strength in numbers and unity, and together we can make a difference.
Who we are
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preventing human trafficking and providing education to bring awareness to this modern-day tragedy. As residents of Northeast Ohio, we have a passion for helping end human trafficking and see every victim free with their physical and emotional wounds healed! We know there is HOPE to stop this tragedy.
Our 2020 Plans:
- Community Awareness Events: We will be providing education and partnering with several organizations at different local events throughout the year! We will also host our A21 annual Walk for Freedom @ Walsh University! Please check out our updated community events page for further details.
- Reach and Educate Students: We are working hard to get the A21 common core approved curriculum into our local high schools so that we can empower our youth and prevent them from becoming a victim of human trafficking.
- Educate Businesses: This is a yearly goal of ours to reach out to local businesses in our community and educate them on human trafficking. Together, we will eradicate slavery forever!
- Collaborating: The heart of our organization is to work with local agencies and organizations so that we can make a bigger impact in our community, state and world! We have partnered with Walsh University, PATHS, Stark County Juvenile Task Force and A21. We are looking forward to more collaboration this year.
We are passionate about using our voice to speak for those who have been silenced by the tragedy of human trafficking.
